What Star Seller looks at

Etsy checks Star Seller over a rolling three months. You need an average review of 4.8 or higher, 95 percent of first messages answered within 24 hours, 95 percent of orders shipped on time with tracking, and at least 5 orders in the period.

Use only the last three months of reviews in the calculator. At 4.7 across 30 of them, you need about 6 new 5-star reviews to clear 4.8. The rating on your public shop page is worked out differently and gives recent reviews more weight, so the two numbers can differ.

Getting more 5-star reviews on Etsy

  • Ship on time with tracking. Late orders cause most low reviews.
  • A short thank-you note in the package. Etsy already emails buyers to review.
  • Never offer a coupon for a review. Etsy doesn't allow it.
